Eagle Mountain’s youth baseball late registration will run through March 6.
Come join the fun and learn to bowl! Eagle Mountain City and Jack & Jill Bowling are teaming up to offer discount youth bowling and instruction. You may register online at the city’s website. There is a $3.70 convenience fee to register online. To avoid this fee, you may register in person at City Hall Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration continues through March 23 and the season will begin April 2. It is $55 and will be held on Mondays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Those K through 12th grades may register and it includes two games of bowling per week for 8 weeks, shoe rental, shirt and instruction. Special needs welcome.
The 2012 Miss Saratoga Springs Scholarship Pageant will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Vista Heights Middle School. The theme is “Remember When.” This year we have 14 lovely young ladies vying for the title. This is a wonderful evening of entertainment and fun for the whole family. This is the largest group of girls we have ever had! We feel that it’s because of the type of pageant we have. Tickets are $5 in advance and can be purchased from any of the contestants, at the city offices or online. They will be $7 at the door. All persons regardless of age entering the auditorium will be required to purchase a ticket.
The Eagle Mountain Woman of the Year award is back. If you know someone who has done phenomenal service in their home, school, or community that you think deserves to be recognized, be sure to nominate them before March 1, 2012. The award is kept a secret, even to the winner, until the presentation at the Miss Eagle Mountain Pageant on April 7, 2012. To submit your nominations, please send an email to swhittier@emcity.org, telling a little about why you think this person should be Woman of the Year. If you have any questions please contact Sarah Whittier 801.789.6645 or at the email address above.
The Saratoga Springs library is staffed by volunteers. In order to keep up their services, they need more people who are willing to commit to 2-4 hours a week. Contact Sue, 801-766-6513, for more information if you are interested in helping.
Westlake High School is starting a tutoring center and needs volunteers from our community. We want to give the students equal opportunities to succeed in the areas they sometimes fall behind in such as algebra I & II, geometry, calculus, chemistry, physics and language arts (writing structure). We will start before and after school tutoring. For more information on how you can help out at the high school, e-mail or call Shari Davis at 801-214-8446 or sharidavis.whsvolunteer@gmail.
