Lighting off fireworks? Know the restrictionsHave a neighborhood or family fireworks display planned for the July 24 holiday? It's important to be aware that fireworks restrictions are in place in several local communities this season.Eagle Mountain Fireworks are banned in areas next to Mountain Ranch Bike Park, Lake Mountain Road, Cedar Pass Ranch, North Ranch, Ruby Valley, Lone Tree, Kiowa Valley, Eagle Top, Point Lookout, Hidden Canyon, Fremont Springs, Meadow Ranch, Valley View, and White Hills. (See http://www.unifiedfire.org/stations/fireworks_restrictions_map.asp) Three city park areas are approved for fireworks use: Asphalt parking lots at Pony Express Park Smith Ranch Park Silverlake Amphitheater. Use in any other city parks is prohibited. Saratoga Springs Fireworks are banned within 200 feet of any area next to the foothills, large areas of undeveloped property or farmland. They are also not allowed within 150 feet of undeveloped lots or property within residential neighborhoods. Illegal fireworks will be confiscated by the Sheriffs Office or fire department. Lehi In certain areas of Lehi, fireworks are banned. Those areas are north of S.R. 92 from Traverse Mountain east to IM Flash and the Dry Creek Corridor from 1200 East to Center Street. These areas are posted with signs banning fireworks. These locations will be heavily patrolled during the fireworks season. Cedar Hills The current restrictions prohibit any aerial fireworks or open fires east of Canyon Road. The use of other fireworks and covered fires (i.e. screen covers on fire pits) are allowed. There are currently no other restrictions for the rest of the city. Residents are invited to light aerial fireworks at Mesquite Soccer Park on July 24, where fire personnel will be on site. American Fork There are no fireworks restrictions in place in American Fork this season. However, fire officials caution residents to be careful and use good sense when discharging fireworks. Alpine The discharge of fireworks is banned in much of the city. The only area where fireworks are allowed is in a specific corridor from Canyon Crest to Alpine Highway U-74; from Ridge Drive to Main Street; from 600 East to Main Street and in that corridor from the western city boundary to 300 North. Residents in the No Fireworks Zone can light off their fireworks in the center of Creekside Park on July 24 only. Highland The discharge of fireworks is prohibited in all the following areas: Bull River subdivision, Dry Creek Highland subdivision, Hidden Oaks Subdivision,Westfield Cove subdivision, Hunter Ridge subdivision, Sunset Mnt. Properties, Highland Hills subdivision, Chamberry Fields subdivision, Beacon Hills subdivision, Mercer Hollow subdivision, View Point subdivision Country French subdivision, Highland Glen Park Skye Estates Mouth of Am. Fork Canyon.
